Weekly updates

Generating weekly client updates

The weekly update generator drafts a clean, professional client update from your workspace data. With good context in your workspace, it takes under two minutes: generate, edit lightly, and send.

What the AI reads

When you generate an update, the AI pulls from everything in your workspace:

  • Engagement focus: the one-line description of what you're working on
  • Objectives: the outcomes the engagement is trying to achieve
  • Recent decisions: the last 10 decisions logged
  • Recent meeting notes: the last 3 meeting notes you've saved
  • Workspace notes: your running engagement notes
  • This week's notes: anything you add in the optional field before generating

The more context you have in your workspace, the better the update. If the workspace is sparse, the update will be generic. If it's rich, the update will be specific and useful.

Adding this week's notes

Before generating, there's an optional This Week's Notes field. Use it for anything that happened this week that isn't already captured in your workspace, such as a difficult conversation, a breakthrough, or a new risk that emerged.

You don't have to fill it in. If your meeting notes and decisions are current, the AI already has what it needs. The field is for things that happened after your last note.

The context banner

At the top of the update page, a banner shows exactly what the AI will use, including engagement focus, how many objectives, how many decisions, how many meeting notes, and whether workspace notes exist. If the banner says "limited context," go back to the workspace and add more before generating.

Click View context to see a preview of what the AI will read before you generate.

Editing the update

The generated update is fully editable: it's a text area you can change directly. The AI drafts it, you own it. Edit the tone, adjust the specifics, and add something it missed.

Every update is auto-saved as a draft the moment it generates, so you won't lose it if you close the tab or navigate away.

Marking as sent

Once you're happy with the update, click Copy to clipboard or Open in email → to send it. Then click ✓ Mark as sent.

Marking as sent does two things: it saves the update to your history with a Sent badge, and it automatically advances your next update date by seven days on the workspace.

Update history

Every generated update is saved, both drafts and sent updates. The history section at the bottom of the update page shows all past updates with date and status. Click any entry to expand it and read the full text.

You can also click Load this update on any past update to bring it back into the editor, useful if you want to reference or build on a previous update.

The update format

The AI structures updates consistently:

  • A 2–3 sentence status overview at the top
  • This Week: what was accomplished, decisions made, progress on objectives
  • Next Week: priorities and planned actions
  • On My Radar: risks, open questions, or items needing client input (only when relevant)

It's designed to be readable in under two minutes. A client should be able to scan it and know exactly where things stand.
