Leads
Capturing leads
Leads are for the people you're talking to who aren't a real opportunity yet: the intro call, the coffee chat, the founder who says "check back after the raise." Jot them down in seconds, keep a dated note each time they come back around, and convert them to an opportunity when it gets real. Fractional Workspace doesn't find leads for you; this is a place to keep track of the ones you already have.
Adding a lead
Open Leads in the sidebar, or click + Quick lead on your Pipeline. The only required field is a name. Company, email, phone, and a quick note are all optional, so you can capture someone in the time it takes to hang up the phone.
A good first note says how you met, what they're working on, and when to follow up. Press Cmd+Enter (or Ctrl+Enter) in the note box to save without reaching for the mouse.
When they come back around
Click any lead to open it, type what's new in Add a note, and save. Each note is stamped with the date and added to the top, so the full history of the relationship reads newest first. The lead also moves to the top of your list, and the list shows how long it's been since you last touched each one.
Use Edit details to fill in a company, email, or phone you didn't have the first time.
Converting a lead to an opportunity
When a lead turns into a real conversation about working together, open it and click Convert to opportunity →. The new opportunity form opens with their name, company, email, phone, and all of your lead notes already filled in, followed by a Latest call: heading for what you just learned. Add the website and anything new, then create the opportunity as usual.
The lead moves to the Converted tab with a link straight to its opportunity. From there it works like any other opportunity: run an AI analysis, build a proposal, and get it signed.
Open, Converted, and Archived
- Open: everyone you're still in touch with, most recently touched first
- Converted: leads that became opportunities, each linked to its opportunity
- Archived: leads that went quiet. Nothing is lost; open one and click Move back to open if they resurface
The search box looks across names, companies, emails, phone numbers, and notes, so "the logistics founder from the conference" is easy to find months later.
Leads vs. opportunities
Leads stay out of your pipeline, your opportunity counts, and your dashboard totals until you convert them. That keeps your pipeline focused on prospects you're actively working toward a proposal, while nobody you've met falls through the cracks.
